If you keep doing what you’re doing, does the money outlast you?

OutlastRetirement answers that question on your machine — without bank logins, user accounts, or an advisor funnel.

Uses a fictional household (the Carters). Your own plan stays on your device. Education, not financial advice.

The OutlastRetirement Dashboard for the fictional Carter household: headline figures, a Will It Last? verdict reading On track, and a chart of their savings from 2026 to 2063 with the range across simulated markets shaded behind it.
The Carters’ Dashboard: one verdict, their savings year by year, and a sentence that says what the chart shows.

Most tools start by connecting your life.

Link accounts. Create a login. Sync balances into the cloud — then upsell advice or managed money. That architecture is fine for some products. It isn’t ours.

You don’t need a dossier to ask a simple question: if nothing changes, does this path hold?

How OutlastRetirement works

1

Start with the keep-doing question

Load the Carters demo or enter your own assumptions. See year-by-year whether the path outlasts you — or you outlast the money.

2

Your plan stays on your machine

Plan inputs and projections run on-device. No OutlastRetirement account. Free path and Premium share the same privacy boundary.

3

Go deeper only if you want

Optional Premium unlocks Detailed Holdings, Retirement Spending, Readiness in Full, and Relocation & Residency — still calculated locally. Invite-only while we’re in beta.

The questions you actually ask, answered from your plan

Retirement Readiness turns the projection into plain answers, each worked out from your own numbers rather than a rule of thumb:

  • If you walked away today, could the portfolio carry this lifestyle?
  • What would working longer actually buy you?
  • Where does your first five years of money come from, and how does it reach you?
  • If the market fell 20% right after you retire, could you stay retired without changing your lifestyle?
  • Are your biggest expenses landing in the years that can least absorb them?
The Retirement Readiness page for the fictional Carters, answering whether they could walk away from work today and how much they could spend and still last.
Retirement Readiness for the Carters: how long the plan has to last, and whether they could stop working today.

Built so we can’t sell what we never hold

Your numbers are your business. We don't collect your plan data, we don't have user accounts, and we never sell your financial profile.

  • No user accounts to run a projection
  • No bank linking required to start
  • Plan data + math on your device (free and Premium)
  • No third-party beacons by default — anonymous visit analytics are opt-in and off until you turn them on
  • Backup you own — export a file to your disk; optional encrypted backup

Loading the app still contacts our host to serve the page. Optional Live Pricing can send ticker symbols only to a spreadsheet you control — never share counts or dollars invested. We don’t claim the browser “never touches the network.”

Different job than sync-first tools

Many “free” planners start by connecting banks so balances live on their servers — then retention, coaching, or managed money. Others skip linking but still require an account and keep your plan in the cloud.

OutlastRetirement is a local planning instrument: see if your current path outlasts you, without uploading your life or getting walked to an advisor.

Free core. Optional depth.

New to retirement planning? Start with a lesson.

Six short lessons, a few minutes each, in plain words. They follow Ray and Angie Parker, a fictional couple, from “will my money last?” to fixing a plan that runs short.

Learn on a fictional household first

Two made-up families come with a full plan already filled in. The Carters have a large, detailed plan that is on track. Ray and Angie Parker are an ordinary couple with two paychecks and a mortgage, whose plan runs short until a few small changes fix it. Change a number, watch the answer move, then bring your own numbers when you’re ready.

The Risk tab for the fictional Carters: a Monte Carlo of 1,000 simulated markets with the success rate and the best, median and worst ending balances.
Stress it: 1,000 simulated markets, historical crashes, and the range behind every ending balance.

We illuminate. We don’t prescribe.

OutlastRetirement shows levers and tradeoffs on your assumptions so you can decide. It is educational software, not financial, tax, or legal advice. Decisions stay yours.
